Yes, the user can take pictures even if a SD card is not in the camera. Please see FAQ #1 for more information about the number of pictures your camera is capable of storing.

In today’s world of digital cameras there are many different types of memory cards. Most camera manufacturers choose their card formats based on what kind of card fits best for their cameras. The important point is to make sure that the card you buy is the right type for your camera. If you are not sure make sure it is probably best to buy from your local camera or electronics shop where the staff should be able to help you. The most common type of card is the SD (Secure Digital) card used by your GE digital camera. The cards are made by a variety of manufactures under a number of different brands.

We recommend to use SANDISK, TOSHIBA or PANASONIC SD card.

As a rule, the higher the quality setting of the camera and the more complex the background (for example, pictures of trees in autumn are more complex than a blue sky), the fewer the pictures that can be stored. The size of the card, the file format, and camera file compression are other determining factors.

Yes, you can use a SD card for up to 4 GB.
