Stylish GE digital cameras to return to HSN; 10-megapixel E1040 set for July 22 debut

TORRANCE, Calif. (July 20, 2007) – The stylish new line of GE digital cameras will make a return appearance on multichannel retailer HSN and www.hsn.com on July 22 with the world launch of its 10-megapixel E1040.

General Imaging, the worldwide exclusive licensee for GE digital cameras, announced today that HSN will offer the E1040 in black, silver, and an eye-catching, HSN-exclusive hot metallic pink.

Besides the 10-megapixel resolution, the E1040 boasts 4x zoom and a 3-inch LCD screen. As with all GE cameras, it also offers such advanced features as face detection, red-eye removal, panoramic stitching, and image stabilization. The E1040 also provides ISO 3200 sensitivity. These features are all embedded in the camera, meaning no additional software is needed.

All GE cameras offer movie mode, continuous-shot mode, and a variety of special scene modes – all at prices far less than many of their competitors. For product details on the full line of GE cameras, go to http://www.ge.com/digitalcameras.

In an HSN exclusive, the E1040 will come with a free special bundle: an ArcSoft software package (including Scrapbook Creator, CD/DVD LabelMaker, DVD Slideshow, Greeting Card, and PhotoImpression), plus an additional HSN Birthday Surprise.

The July 22 engagement will represent the GE camera line’s second appearance on HSN. The May 1 appearance on HSN, featuring the ultra-compact G1, marked the first time GE digital cameras were made available to the public. GE cameras began reaching shelves of U.S. retailers later that month.

“We were very pleased with our first HSN experience,” said Hiroshi “Hugh” Komiya, Chairman & CEO of General Imaging. “Just as it was for the G1, we believe HSN provides an extremely effective channel for us to launch the E1040 before it’s available at major retailers.”

HSN reaches 89 million U.S. households through TV and is the fourth-largest cable network in the U.S. Its partners’ products are also available online at www.hsn.com.

“It will be great for HSN viewers to get a second look at GE cameras,” said Sandy Conrad, Senior Vice President, Merchandising with HSN. “Our shoppers recognize the GE brand for its long-standing reputation for quality and value. The E1040 delivers on that brand promise and offers our shoppers a lot of bang for the buck.”

“Consumers still have time to upgrade their digital camera for family vacations, weekend trips to the beach, back-yard cookouts, ballgames and summer sunsets,” said Rene Buhay, Vice President of Sales North America for General Imaging. “The E1040 will be perfect for all those things. And we think a lot of shoppers will go for the hot pink finish.”

An independent new company based in Torrance, Calif., General Imaging unveiled eight cameras on March 8 during PMA 07, the leading industry photographic trade show in Las Vegas. More information about GE cameras is available at www.ge.com/digitalcameras.
