Let’s be frank, the name GE is not exactly synonymous with
digital cameras. Nevertheless, General Electric’s A-series entry-level camera,
the GE A830, is impressive. The 8-megapixels, 3X optical zoom camera features a
2.5-inch LCD screen and snaps images quickly and beautifully. There is some
delay, although not as noticeable as with the Kodak V1003.
Priced at $149.99, the A830 has face-detection and image-stabilization
technology and a host of other features that makes it a value purchase. And it
runs on two AA batteries. Although it’s a basic digital camera that won’t
necessarily win awards in the looks category, its simple design makes it a good
tool.
